FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: In the good old days finished second in the contest "The Good Old Days"

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Private Gunther's Leave Request finished first in the contest "Life, Death, and Leadership"
Lance S. Loria: I've been carrying this story around with me for nearly 50 years so this felt really good to write. The words came pouring out in a rush and before I knew it there were over 2,000 words written. Thank you for the many many readers and voters. -
QC Poet: Congratulations on the 1place ribbon Mr. Loria! -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: The Forty Niner finished third in the contest "Epitaph "
    lyenochka: Congratulations! -
Lance S. Loria: It was a creative approach to the writing prompt with good rhymes so I was pleased to be recognized. Thank you to all those who read and voted for The Forty-Niner. May he RIP. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Good Deed Gone Bad finished first in the contest "A Good Turn Gone Wrong"
greyson ernst: congrats well deserved -
Lance S. Loria: This is a maximum 300 word prompt that was over 600 words in my first draft so it required a lot of editing. I enjoyed providing some humor and a bit of a twist at the end. I hope you all enjoy the read. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: I See Me finished second in the contest "Mirror Poem"
Lance S. Loria: Thank you to those who read and voted for my poem. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Stiletto Heel Steel Tip Boots finished first in the contest "A good pair of boots can crush exes"
l.raven: CONGRATULATIONS Lance...a well deserved win...
I know someone who lives in Conroe Texas...small world...love xxoo -
Lance S. Loria: The pure act of writing in itself is it's own reward. However, the occasional recognition from a 6-star rating or contest award provides a nice motivational boost. Thank you to those who have provided a much needed boost! -

Lance S. Loria: Merry Christmas to one & all! May the Holiday be filled with blessings & joy for you and your families!
Lance.
Liz O'Neill: You also and your loved ones -

Lance S. Loria: Well back writing and after only a few months, already fed up with FanStory. Yesterday a new "member" with one day here rated my Haiku a "3" because he didn't feel that 3 lines told enough about the topic. I realize some people are new and/or uninformed; the problem is what to do about it. I don't want to deal with aggravation here...this is for my enjoyment.

Lance S. Loria: I was gratified to be notified that my short true story, "One Down, Eight to Go" has been granted "Well Received" status and will be displayed on the FanStory Welcome page. Thanks to each of the reviewers.
Eve Vasa: Good one Lance, nice to see you today, cheers, Eve. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: The Lion King finished third in the contest "Sedoka"
Lance S. Loria: I really like this poem and appreciate the recognition. I hope to receive more views and reviews! -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Twenty Item bucket List finished second in the contest "Top 20 Bucket List"
Lance S. Loria: Thank you to those writers who read my work and voted for it. -

Lance S. Loria: Happy New Year! After a three month hiatus, I've returned with a renewed attitude and appetite to write again. I even submitted a contest under the "twenty" theme. I look forward to our interactions and a bountiful new year of fresh writing! Lance.

Lance S. Loria: I have grown weary of this site. Taking time away to decide if I will come back or disengage. Too frustrated with contest voting booths and judging. Sad 😞
mrsmajor: I don't believe you're alone, after 16 years in this site, I'm just plain sick of it...and will not be renewing my membership...Sometimes progress can lose it's original purpose...and that's what I'm seeing...I wish you well! -
Jannypan (Jan) : I believe the contests--site/member--will cause many to leave. Suggestions have been made, but they fall on deaf ears. There is too much bias with the contests including the 'of the month' selections. With the large number of members, the same handful are always selected in the 'of the month' contests. Therefore, the winners just seem to rotate among that group. The whole contest idea needs to be revamped. Yes, it MAY have worked in the past. But as years passed, it has caused much hurt, disgust, and threats of leaving--including those that have, or will be, leaving. If FS doesn't focus on improvement, then the site may find a great loss of revenue. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Senyru (boat dream) finished third in the contest "Senryu Yourself"
Lance S. Loria: Thank you to the writers who voted for my senryu poem. -

Lance S. Loria: October is the time of year,
That many must say brrrr.
Others drink a beer.
Preparing for holidays.

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: An Affair to Remember finished third in the contest "Assassinate Me A Thriller! "
Lance S. Loria: I had decided not to participate in any more voting booth contests. Then I wrote this 500 word story and had so much fun with it, I decided to share it. I was happily surprised to catch a third place tie and thank you to the voters -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Autumn Apple Harvest finished third in the contest "oneoneonetwotwotwo..."
Diana L Crawford: I thought this to be the poem that met the challenge perfectly! xoxo -
Lance S. Loria: Thanks Diana. I read all the entries and it seemed there was a lot of confusion about the writing prompt. I only found one other entry that was compliant, but missed the syllable count on one line. The compliance committee allowed all the diverse entries to remain in competition. The Voting Booth process is flawed enough without the additional lack of competent qualifications review.

Thanks to all who voted for my entry. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Protesters at Jakes Pub finished third in the contest "75 Word Story"
Lance S. Loria: I really enjoyed writing this piece and included a punch line ending that hopefully made the readers smile. Thank you to those who voted for my story. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Lemons Are A Man's Best Friend finished third in the contest "The Lemon was..."
Lance S. Loria: My first script contest award. This was a funny erotic story that was on the edge. Thanks to all who voted for it. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: The Good Samaritan finished first in the contest "The Wrong Move"
Lance S. Loria: This was a challenge to create a unique situation to keep the reader on edge and end with a surprise. Thanks to all who voted for it. -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Relationship Prisoner finished second in the contest "The Prisoner "
Lance S. Loria: A multi-poem tie but it feels good to have my first 2nd place finish. Thank you authors who voted for my work. -

Lance S. Loria: I'm very grateful of the help and support of new friends made on FanStory. In particular, the time and effort expended by others to provide me with feedback in reviews and messages. I'm warming up to the site with poetry and short story postings. I don't feel any pressure to keep up with anyone, but am happy to be improving my writer and reviewer rankings almost daily. Thanks again to everyone I've interacted with on this site.
LG Wolfe: What a lovely thing to say in this forum. -

Jannypan (Jan) : I agree, Your comment is great. So many times, forum comments amount to bashing of one--check out the religion & politics threads--if you dare! -

FanStory wrote to Lance S. Loria: Olde Irish Setter finished third in the contest "The Writin' o' the Green"
Lance S. Loria: My first contest win, even a third place feels good. Thanks to all who voted for Olde Irish Setter. -
Rachelle Allen: It was a terrific story, and third place is certainly nothing to sniff at!! You saw how many others were in the contest, and they were all really good!! Plus, it's your first month on FanStory!! You're killin' it!! -

Lance S. Loria: I have been writing for professional business for 40 years with more than 85 articles, two book chapters and one pamphlet. Personally I have written short stories and poems for 30 years and have over a dozen poems published in anthologies. My first novel is well underway as well. I find writing to be relaxing.
Beri Bee: That's fantastic!!! I agree that writing is relaxing!!! I hope your novel is like The Good Samaritan! I couldn't read it fast enough to see what happened next! -
