Hi Yvonne. You've done a great job with this interesting "take" on the theme of bridges. Excellent word choices to complete your mysterious theme. Marilyn

Love your mystic bridge topic in this Free Verse challenge Yvonne. The imagination could take this as the final bridge to whatever awaits beyond. Great presentation and great free verse.

You cleverly took this image of a bridge in fog, and created a haunting tale of pending doom here within this well written Free Verse poem. It does give one pause. Good luck in the challenge, This should do well.

This is a lovely short piece of mysterious free verse about a bridge. There is a thinly veiled threat in there as well because of those who ventured on to it and never returned. Fantastically and mysteriously brilliant. I have no hesitation in tagging this with six stars.

Hello Yvonne,
I think I'll avoid stepping on the bridge of no return,
but it is just fine in a nicely written free verse poem.
Your poem would make an excellent introduction for a scary novel.
Excellent imagery and matching photo.
Well done
Robert

Thank you, Barb. That's what I intended. Where did your imagination lead you?
reply by Barb Hensongispsaca on 24-Feb-2019
IN three different directions. One of horror, one of spiritual, one of adventure.

A mysterious bridge with some metaphoric intent, I think. It seems to stand for many a journey into the unknown. Your last lines flow beautifully off the tongue - just loved them!
"lurking
in the circling
miasma
of gray vapor"

I'm glad you like that part, Tony. It's my favorite, too, and I was afraid no one would take notice of it. Thank you for a lovely review. I hope all is well with you. Haven't heard anything about Teagan lately.

Ooooo......a mysterious bridge to nowhere or somewhere....it's up to my imagination to decide! :) Love the complete veil of secrecy you've created through words and shortened format here, Yvonne, while still whetting the appetite for more! ;) Thank you for sharing! :) Yvette

Bridges are mystical to be sure. How often are used as metaphors. Different people think of them in different ways. My friend was always terrified of them and avoid them at all cost. I thrill at them because they make connections otherwise, impossible. Your poem relates them to unknown endings, another interesting interpretation of a bridge.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. I know people who don't like them. I'm like you. I like a bridge, especially some of the older ones with character.
