Please don't worry about being late. Anytime, I appreciate it. Don't beat yourself up. We all get sidetracked by other thing than FS. 8-)

Gorgeous pic and a lovely, descriptive florette mark 2. The first verse about the ancient oak - gnarled and scarred - love that rhyming is lovely but the second verse is the one that grabs at me. Really lovely read,
cheers,

I will have to try this type of poetry. I loved the rhythm of it, I was able to imagine a forest at night with all the musical sounds the forest creates. Beautiful poem

This is a lovely Florette with good rhyme and rhythm. Lovely use of personification in - 'a giggling brooklet plays along, while pine trees whisper hush-a-bye,' - my favourite line - the forest gently wrapped in moonlight's soft sarong. A really lovely poem Damommy for the Potlatch challenge. Warm regards Dorothy x

Wow! I am really captivated by this poetic format and your beautiful descriptions of this forest setting. The meter and word choice create a somber and serene picture of an ancient scene in a wooded wonderland. Terrific.

Hello Yvonne,
I love old trees, especially gnarled and scarred ones,
imagine the things that have happened beneath their limbs
Ancient forests hold mystique, maybe even magic
This is a beautiful Florette poem, wonderful imagery
and exciting rhymes. The poem matches its name.
Magical art works, too

-Very nice artwork and presentation.
-Your notes are appreciated.
-You have written a well penned Florette.
-I find the forms you do very interesting.
-The imagery is vivid and paints a
word picture of the woodland scene.
-I like the oak standing guard, and
the woodland song and lullaby.

Thank you, Pam. I get the forms from the Potlatch Poetry club. Always keeps us learning something new.

You are welcome. You do a good job with all of these different forms; it is nice to see someone trying different things.

There is something so soothing about the forest, so serene and your poem. captures that feeling very nicely. The picture you chose fits perfectly, I can see why it was recognized. Thanks for sharing.

The second lovely Florette poem of yours that I have read recently, Yvonne, and this time I do have the six stars it deserves! Beautiful atmospherics in this and an original closing metaphor. Love your word choices and the subtle use of alliteration and assonance.

Thank you so much, Tony. This means a lot to me. How are things in your neck of the woods. Seen Tegan lately? I'll bet she's growing fast.
-
All well here, though frantically busy! We saw Teagan in New York in July. You are right - she's growing up very fast! We get lots of photos of her, so don't miss too many milestones! Her life seems to revolve around cooking, bike riding, forest school and making new friends - and, of course, hanging out with her very best friend, Pablito the Schnauzer!
-
How old is she now? She seems young to have so many interests.
-
She's two and three-quarters now. I'm a bit surprised by some of the things that she is doing, too
-
amazing!
