This...achoo...haiku is most amusing. I'll be looking forward to the movie. Action-packed huh? Trees swatting bees as they sting its leaves? Enjoyed reading your haiku promo.

Excellent, my feelings exactly the movie is sure to be a hit, except for the critics that will write haiku reviews that now will understand or wish to.

Dear Thomas, Funny yet informative story about the origins of haiku. I could never ever being to pronounce that long Japanese name. And I liked the end of the story - newbies flocking to it like flies on (hesitation) haiku, instead of "dog crap." Dove

Hello Thomas. Actually, I thought the term haiku came from Tom Brady yelling at his center in the shotgun formation. He said "Hike you!!" I tried to write two haiku poems. I swore never to do it again. I shouldn't say this but when I open up poetry and it is 5-7-5 my stomach rumbles. I'm sorry I laughed at your essay. It shows my insensitivity. Robert

I can't wait for the movie! I'd come to the conclusion that haiku was impossible. I want to know more about this new anything goes haiku. Do the Haiku Nazis know about it? If you haven't followed all 6950328 rules you won't get a two? That's incredible!

I asked several writers of haiku what the rules were. Everyone said something different.

What an hilarious article Thomas, just love this. Your gift is definitely humour, that's why your quick wit, combined with the versatility of Phyllis, works so well, sort of like the British comedy series the "goons" or Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello. So well done. Blessings, Roy

This is crazy fun. I'm not a fan of haiku anyway, so whatever you say about them is fine with me. Great idea for your movie, and I love the name of the creator of Haiku, which I will not attempt to write. You have a lot of fun details such as how many syllables in a haiku. Haiku translates to dog crap--that's a fun one. Very enjoyable and lots of fun at the haiku's expense. judi

Haiku snobs are as irritating as wine snobs.
    Thanks for the six.

You're welcome. I don't care for a steady diet of haiku. judi

Thomas, I believe. I believe Dorian rattled your brain. :) Haiku to you too. :) This is an interesting read. I hope you are nut a looking for a way to the nut-farm even if they give away free nuts. Their motto is, "First come and then some." With whom do I speak with to get a book? :)

I think this is a funny post but I'm sure a few of the poets will disagree. You're right I do read a lot of haiku. I can't really voice an opinion because I've never tried it myself. My gift of gab wouldn't adhere to the harsh restrictions. 17 syllables is a warm-up, lol. Nice job.

What fun this was to read. Much more fun than trying to write a haiku which I actually did for this web site when I first joined and was gently informed it wasn't really a haiku which is OK because I really didn't enjoy writing it in the first place. Thank you for opening up this opportunity for me to speak my mind about haiku. Can't wait to see the movie!
