This is a very well-written, interesting poem about what the solider has to face. Your great word, choice, description paints a vivid image in the reader's mind. Your art work is perfect, enhances the poem.

I like the content and subject matter, the interweaving of holy and conventional warfare is really interesting, I would have suggested that you went in a more conventional structure, instead of using punctuation to set the meter do it with line separation, there were what I perceived some nice rhyming patterns that could be accentuated by using that form, it also might smooth out the reading and comprehension of the message. It was a really nice post, I am going to read some of the other chapters in the Act of Endurance

I really like your picture, like old soldier and young boy, new soldier waiting his turn. It's true how our soldiers brave so many dangers for our safety and that never changes. Very nicely put!

Your words describe things well. I "see" them. Your flow in the first stanza made me think this poem would be rhyming, but then it changed beginning with the second stanza. That confused me. But I then began to read the poem as if it were a story...I like that you left the interpretation of who is in this war and in this army open. This could be a war between mankind, or a war within man's mind.

I look forward to reading Act of Endurance. I work with veterans, usually Vietnam, Korea, and WWII, and I have gotten to know them well; their lives and stories. I can't describe how much this speaks to me. Beautiful writing!

Thank you for sharing this poem. This reminds me of writing a poem by cutting words out of a newspaper or magazine and pasting them together. The syntax is as if the writer is not a native English speaker. I am not sure what the illustration has to do with the poem. This poem may mean much to the writer, but I don't think that meaning is getting across to the reader.

What a nice tribute to the men and women of our armed forces, and remembering their sacrifices is always so important. Good luck in the contest!

The poem speaks of reality. One must always face his or her enemies no matter the circumstances. A very nice take of this in poetry. Thanks for sharing.
