A wonderful and descriptive essay on the sport of dressage. My youngest daughter took an interest in English riding and western dressage as a youngster and worked and showed some of the most amazing and intelligent horses I have ever witnessed. I, too, enjoy dressage and I could see it in your words. They are beautifully descriptive and delivered with nothing less than a loving heart. The way they move, the way they dance, the way the rider and horse work together. Ah! Gorgeous! I'm an innate rider, just got on a horse as a child and took off. No training, no discipline. Didn't need it. Seemed to know what to do and the horses liked me back. Things are sending me in that direction again these days, your essay among them. Thank you!

Thank you. I have always loved horses and, like you, they love me back. Some folks used to say I had the touch. I don't know about that. I think when you truly love and respect an animal they tend to love you back.

Thank you. I do love to watch dressage performed. I had horses most of my life but I never rode dressage.

Thank you. I tried to put a picture of a dressage horse with the contest but FanStory wouldn't let me upload it. You should be able to find some pictures on the internet. It is lovely to behold.

I couldn't agree more - dressage is exceptionally beautiful and has to be one of the most difficult to achieve any level of expertise in the world of sports.

Your essay is great. You describe the various moves of dressage so well it's almost like being there. In fact, I'd love to see another article like this one, with more descriptions. It's flawless, and very easy to follow. Wonderful non-fiction! Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you. It's not hard to write about something one loves. I had to look up the different terms as I have never ridden a dressage horse in my life. I always wanted to but life got in the way.
