You make the different animals come alive by causing them to sound so natural. Children will love having this read to them. Your word pictures were vivid.

this would be a whole book in itself Sandra - one verse per page with LOTS of pictures and open-the-tab interactive treasures (but probably way too expensive to produce, unforunately). You are AWFULLY good at these, aren't you? :))S

Sandra, this is an absolute masterpiece of children's poetry, in my opinion. I love your Hedgerow group of friends, and if this book doesn't charm the little ones, I've no idea what would. Delightful! (And I just gave away my last six, or you'd have one for this exceptional story-poem.)

Hi Indie, thank you so much for the lovely review. I am afraid I am behind as well, did I tell you we sold our house? Now I have to sort out all the junk I've collected over the years and there is a lot!!! I will be on and reviewing a bit in my coffee breaks so will be a bit late some times. Thank you again, my friend!! xsx Sandra

Hi Sandra
This is such a delight! no need to be a child to enjoy a good children's book. I would have loved something like this to read to my little boys ..... not that we didn't find some goodies. Of course they probably won't let me read it to them now .. perhaps it has something to do with their height .. they all hit six feet or more now ... LOL .... I will get a copy to read to my grandchildren. Though I may have to wait a while.
I just love fairs and carnivals, parades .... and I love your poem which brings back my own childhood memories of such occasions.
Your rhythm is fast paced and bouncy ... making it so much fun, and of course perfect for children. Also great rhyme. Your character names are also enjoyable. I love this little story in a poem. All the excitement of the preparation for the big day! WoW! and more to come when the day arrives. You have used some great alliteration, assonance and consonance throughout to provide the melodious background to your rhyme and also arouses the audial senses.
Great imagery paints a picture perfect day and all the fun of the fair. There are so many fabulous phrases, I hesitate to select even one, yet the picture in my mind that this phrase conjured up had me reeling - "Mega Mouse would come and lift up two large mice;" LOL. I found no spag or typos. Brilliant! Warmest wishes - Lovinia xoxoxo

How do these little critters manage to have all the fun at the carnival? :-) Their carnival sounds better than the human ones!
Such a nice rolling-along tone to the poetic story. I could see them with their little piratey eye patches!
I read one yesterday of yours about my Hedgerow friends going to the North Pole to help Santa. I wanted to review it today, but now I can't find it. I thought it was a sweet story and refreshing change in Christmas stories - I loved the little animals discovering the elves and helping out.
Both stories were great fun!

Hi Sue, Thank you so much for this wonderful review and all those stars! To find that Christmas one again, you will have to go into my profile and open book 3, and scroll down till you get it. I am going to get that one illustrated and out on Kindle before Christmas, once Hollywood has seen it, you will be able to see it at the cinemas around the world!!! LOL!!! Thank you my brilliant friend! when are you putting another of your hillariously funny stories on again? Soon I hope! :) xsx Sandra

Exceptional Sandra, the rhyming couplets scheme held throughout and a story that is an absolute delight and pleasure to read - twice :0) Beautifully presented with a great illustration although I would have loved to have seen the float;-) You have a genuine talent that is displayed in all it's lucidity in these Hedgerow Tales, or Capers, and I can imagine children world-wide taking great enjoyment out of reading them, this child did!! Fantastic, thanks for the very great pleasure this afternoon, CHEERS!!! Garth

I've loved all the Hedgerow happenings I've read, the few that is. I think they'll make a successful book publication surely, even an animated video series!! Very well done, xox

Thank you for that, Garth. That would be a dream to see them come alive. The first book is doing alright, but when I move back to England I will be able to work with the publisher and do more promotions. Thank you for you very kind words of encouragement, they mean a lot to me. xsx

3rd book! The second hasn't come out yet, just waiting to get it illustrated but I am paying for the illustrations, I didn't want the man Melrose had. The money is only not starting to come in. Thank you Nancy, for your wonderful review, you know your words are a 6 to me! Glad you enjoyed it! xsx Sandra
