Well done and I understand the sentiment in this piece very well. I get overwhelmed when I can't stay abreast of things and then it just immobilizes us, doesn't it? Being down is painful, but like you, I always manage to pick myself up again. excellent free verse with just that touch of the same end rhyme at each verse.

I like your references to the load that life sometimes places on your shoulders, but then you weed and find a new start. Your poem leaves no room for giving up and with a lighter heart you carry on. I enjoyed this poem very much Pupa. I don't know you, but this feels like a very powerful, personal account of depression. I read it several times, and each time I found something new.
The images in the second and third stanzas, of climbing up the ladder, and the strained muscles were so vivid, and really helped someone like me, who is lucky enough never to have suffered depression, to get some small idea of what it feels like.
I also liked the single rhyme at the end of each stanza, which produced a kind of cross between free verse and a more structure form.
A most effective and enjoyable poem.

Your poem was a bit different style wise. After my first read, I would have bet that more than the last word rhymed. It just seemed to flow well. A lot of deep thoughts, all about life, it can knock you down, but your character will be defined on how you get up!
