Lovely Kyrielle Sonnet about human and birds same traits.

I love the sound of your rhymes and the repeating lines.

Excellent entry for the Napowrimo challenge. I tried it the first year I was in fanstory. It was fun.

Thank you so much, MariVal! Of course, you can do it! You always write at least two poems each day. I don't know how many you write outside of FS! Hugs!

Birds have evolved from predator to mainly prey, with some exceptions. Hawks, owls, and eagles. Some fly, some don't. Some sing, some cry. Like humans they share traits but are each unique. Great investigative poem. Gretchen

Interesting - are you referring to the dinosaur days? Thanks for reviewing, Gretchen! Is your computer fixed?

Another cool poem about birds and the drawings are really cool to see the comparisons too. I enjoyed reading this poem and learning about the history of the birds as well. Keep up the great work!

This is going to be a very educational month for me. When I taught preschool in Delaware, my co-teacher belonged to a group of bird watchers. She would set our classroom computer on apps where people put cameras in trees or nests and you could watch bird activity all day in real time. The most fascinating was a camera placed in an eagle's nest.

I look forward to learning how birds are similar or different from humans.

Thank again, Lorraine! And these days we have so many sources of birdwatching on the internet!

I enjoyed your clever poem of birds and us. I have never seen such gorgeous birds as some I've seen on "The Americas." But I had no idea there were so many species of them. Your comparisons of man with bird is interesting.

Yes, I would like to explore more about what is similar and different about birds. We tend to anthropomorphize birds and maybe that's not the right thing to do. Thanks again, Verna!

I applaud you for constantly trying new forms of poetry.
There are over 3000 kinds you know. You do them well.
I was talking to Tom about all the tin y print we are seeing, and he sent this:

This is very nicely rewarded and I very much enjoyed listening to it. Your format is very good. I wish you the very best in the writing of the forms each day for the contest. I also thank you for the notes that you left us about birds. Patricia.

Without luggage, maps or even general planning, some birds migrate thousands of miles when the time is right. When the season ends they return to their point of origin without fail. Some people cannot get from one side of town to the other without assistance from their GPS systems, and we have the nerve to call someone we consider to be not too bright a bird brain. That is not an insult.

Thank you for sharing this napowrimo poem contest entry with us. Before I retired from teaching, one of our science units was to teach the difference between, mammals, birds, and fish. This was one of my first graders favorite units.

I bought a giant book of birds to read and learn more about all the species, but after a few hundred pages, I came to realize a bird is a bird is a bird. Kind of like a human is a human. We all like to think we are unique. But although we have our similarities, disproportionate good and bad qualities, we are more alike than different. And certainly not unique. Thanks for sharing.
