What a clever disguise, I have not heard of these moths before, they look quite large, I am glad they prefer the flowers than an attraction to lights, very well written and presented****kahpot

This 5- 7-5, Insect in Disguise, finds this wooly flying insect imitating what looks like a hummingbird as it slurps up sap from the full plant petal.

I think the hummingbird moth resembles a hummingbird, they are found here in Australia yes, they cleverly sip the nectar of tube shaped flowers whil hovering and sipping through a proboscis shaped protrusion, beautifully written, blessings Roy

How cool is that! Thank you for sharing about the "hummingbird moth" and it can be a hawk-moth, too. That's fascinating and I wonder if it's bigger than the bee hummingbird.
