I enjoyed reading this Ode to the ocean. The thing that calms you and brings you peace. Perhaps your experience near a different sea was not peaceful at all so this peaceful experience brings healing.

Nancy, you are probably correct. I had not thought of it that way. Thank you for your review.

Your poem is so peaceful! The way you wrote about the sea created such a mental image for me. I could see it and smell the salty air and feel the calm you described. The poem flows effortlessly. This is such a lovely tribute to the sea and its quiet power. Wonderful work!

Hi, I really love the imagery in your poem. I used to live by the sea and your description bought back the memories of being close to it. I also like the imagery relating the sea to God and Jesus, it made me think about the relation between the natural elements and the Gods that we worship.

Our shores with sea lapping on the sand often brings peace to a troubled soul and I enjoyed the healing in this post as we often live in a chaotic world. I enjoyed your words here, love Dolly x x x

Many thanks, Dolly. I will never board a ship again; travelling to Australia was horrific, but the change over the years has aided growth. Funnily enough, I got really emotional reading it through.
