The Calm Companion

Oh, the thing of beauty that I once hated
as we travelled many miles
there was very little calm then
either in human or natural form
yet I discovered a new you
the one that calmed me
whispering as you met the shore
gently reminding me to let go and breathe
the air slightly salty, the calm remained
your voice never spoke harshly
I live near you now and still hear your voice
breathe calm energy to me
while children play and seagulls hover
a relative of where Jesus healed and renewed
you, gorgeous sea, heal me
