Ciao mystery poet, you now have 4 votes!
The tree is stunning and I can see why you are in love with it.
When I still lived near the lakeside we had three huge beech trees.
I loved to hug the trunks but you had to be in two to embrace each trunk entirely.
The leaves are dark green in Summer and golden -brown in Autumn. ðŸ‚
We had squirrels that buried the chestnuts we offered at the foot of the trees.
I enjoyed your lively description

Thank you so much for the read and the review. I bet you miss those trees. I love to watch nature at work.

When I was 18 we sold the property .. it took me two years to have the courage to pass and what I saw caused me much sadness and rage.
All three had been cut down despite they were protected by law.
I cried my heart out .. I thought they were safe , protected. I never imagined they could be removed.
The new owners I presume paid a fine for having cut them down..
A crime had been committed in my eyes.
Those three beeches gave character to the villa and provide shade.
I loved them
I raked the leaves together every year and then the owner of a tree and plant farmer nearby would take them away gratis.

Yes, trees can become friends. I'm so happy ours is still healthy. Thanks for sharing.

I’m glad your tree is alive and happy too .. I’m sure it feels your love. 🙂

Your poem feels like a warm embrace. I could see the fiery autumn leaves and the playful squirrels dancing through the branches. I especially love how you describe the tree's resilience through the seasons. Standing firm with "iron will." A delightful read!

This Ode to 'My Maple Tree' is uplifting and joyful reminding the reader of the many joys to be found in the natural world -and a great pic to illustrate
