Been there, done that! You've captured the essence of writer's block. Enjoyed your acrostic and wish you luck in the contest. It seems you've already conquered the problem :-).

Thank you. Definitely am trying to push against my thoughts and write anyway. I do enjoy writing.

Congratulations on using ONE word as the prompt asks us to. Mind you, maybe several is acceptable... I should have checked yesterday.
I like the way you develop the theme here. It's easy to get discouraged when you get a resounding silence and you've made that point good and clear.

Hi there,
Your author notes say it all really. The thing about needing the approval of others or that validation.
Self-worth can never be found in the eyes of others - and this is the most important aspect.
If you want to write then do it. There are literally millions of folk out there who are fantastic poets, writers, whatever whose talent never gets its recognition.
Rejection letters and such like sometimes aren't necessarily that the work isn't good, it may just not fit.
A lot of folk don't realise how much effort it takes to select the right piece for the right publication and so on.
I suffer with apathy sometimes but I still enjoy the writing process.
All the best

Thank you. It's a personality flaw I have. I just constantly need others praise. Yes apathy has its place for me. I'm trying to push through that. I had stopped writing altogether after a memoir I published just simply didn't sell. I'm pushing myself to write again. Right now I'm working on a novel and I'm trying to write one chapter a day. Thank you for your kind rating.

I wouldn't even set the one chapter a day in stone. You can break it down even more. Write a section of dialogue or a scene or a piece of action. Sometimes it's just the process of writing ever day kickstarts things but it can get discouraging again if the goal is too big. Just something to think about.

Well written and seemingly heartfelt acrostic poem.I love how you put emphasis on this by placing the word at the front and tail end.Keep up this good work and never give up something that pleases and enriches the soul .

Thank you. I stopped writing all together when a memoir I wrote didn't sell copies. I'm forcing myself back into it as I've had a novel stuck in my head for fifteen years now and as Franz Kafka said "A non writing writer is a monster courting insanity. Thank you for the 5 star rating.
