A poem about the thought of losing talent

Discouraged

by Kirsten Shonle

Discouraged I stare at my lap top

I have no ambition

Since the rejections I have received

Cause me to have pause

Olden times sure have passed

Usually I can write

Right now it seems a thing of the past

Also, I have killed millions of brain cells

Guess writing is no longer for me

Enjoyment of the act has long since surpassed

Discouraged I sit here and stare at my empty screen

Write an acrostic. Pick a word, any word, and use the letters of that word for the first letter of each line in your poem. See examples here.

I unfortunately need outside validation and my writing thus far hasn't received any attention. I won awards as a child and now its a thing of the past.
