I hope it's true, that we can move mountains. I worked the polls and was amazes at the turnout (both early voting and election day voting). And I heard similar reports around the country. Then the reported results showed 15 million fewer votes than projected (with 42 million more registered voters). I'm really afraid that when Trump said first "You don't even need to vote, we have the votes," and then "You'll never have to vote again," that the books are cooked. And voter suppression worked.
thanks for posting.

I think you are right, Wayne. Voter suppression worked in the last election. Many registered voters didn't vote, so they pretty much handed the election to Trump. He is dangerous and petty when it comes to what will happen to all of us who voted against him.

Hi Jesse,
It's an admirable thing to do but I'm not totally convinced about he if you don't speak up you're part of the problem aspect.
The thing is, in my experience, you can't deal with absolutes. It's this or it's that and that's how these kind of things make me feel.
Equal rights is an interesting proposition. Should a murdering child molester have the same / equal rights as a goo, law-abiding and morally just citizen. I know a lot of folk who'd disagree with this one.
It's a an interesting subject.
All the best

Yes, I believe all people should have equal rights under the law.
The fact that some would disagree with me is why I protest for equal rights. A fair trial, and a fair jury is due for anyone who has broken the law. Rallies and marches are how we can take back what is great about America!
Thanks for stopping by.

"Women deserve the same rights as guns." I like that! And, I agree with you, that silence equals compliance. I have spent the last two months writing and leaving voice mails for Congressional leaders (I use that word sarcastically) and Senators. Talk about silence!
Do you mind if I ask what city you live in? So far, I've seen very little about any kind of protest here in North Florida, but I have family in Georgia and will travel north, if need be, to be a part of a protest.
Good for you, Jesse. I hate that we are doing this all over again, having to resist his every action, but this time I feel there is more at stake.
Thanks for posting.

You are right, Pam. More is at stake this time. I live in a small town called Eureka in Northern California. Our state is very active when it comes to protesting for our civil rights. Keep sending letters and voice mails to our leaders. Everything helps. I appreciate you speaking out and going the extra mile for those less fortunate than you. This shows character and integrity.

I think this means you are an activist...and I think that is an honorable thing.
Alone, we are powerless. If we all stand together, we can eventually make a difference in these matters.
I commend you for your effort.
I really enjoyed reading your account of attending a rally.

Thank you for your generous rating and review.
Together, we can make a difference.

Thank you for sharing about the International Women's Day rally near your home, Jesse! We had one nearby and two of my friends from different states were able to march in it. We are blessed that we can peacefully protest unlike how in Russia, protesters would be imprisoned or killed. It distresses me so much that our POTUS is such a good friend or maybe puppet of Putin.

I liked the wording of your sign - it is the same as in the bullying situation where people do not stand up for the victim, and remaining silent is compliance. You have every right to stand up for what you believe, although I am sure things may change regarding that freedom soon. I believe the vulnerable will be victimised by this so-called leadership where empathy and compassion and integrity are words not understood.

I have seen this before, and you guys are so close to a revolution. We did it in 1989, now is your turn. I think Trumpie went with the dark side. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

I agree. We are coming closer to a revolution all the time. Where do you come from? You write we did it in 1989; where exactly and who is we? Trump went to the dark side a long time ago.

I so enjoyed reading this, Jesse. Contrary to certain factions who believe that might makes right, you and your fellow protesters found a civilized, legal and powerful way to express your feelings, and the pride it evinced in you is well-earned.
I fully agree with and respect the phrase on the sign you held up: "Silence equals compliance."
The one slogan you mentioned that I do have qualms with is "Women deserve the same Rights as Guns." I would appreciate it much more if it said "gun owners." Gun owners seem to have unlimited rights. However, the guns themselves merely have the right to be owned, and I hate that, nowadays, too many people feel the same way about women. Just my two cents ...

Thanks, Michele, for the six stars and the awesome review.
Yes, I am proud, and I appreciate you saying it is well-earned.
Words are powerful, and so are slogans. I agree they should add to the sign, gunowners instead of guns. I liked my sign better.
Your review seemed to drop off at the end so I wonder how you would've ended it if you were able to.
Thanks for stepping up and taking action for civil rights and our democracy. You did it by reviewing this post. I appreciate you.
Take care, my friend.

You're very welcome, Jesse. I fully respect standing up for what you believe in, and I also fully respect and agree with this particular belief.
Don't worry about the unfinished sentence at the end. I inadvertently pasted a line I didn't intend to, and I never even realized it.
I appreciate you as well, my friend.

It feels good to get your respect. I am glad we are on the same page.
No worries as far as the pasted line.
Your friend for life.

Ohhhh, Jesse, your essay gave me goosebumps. I agree 100% with you and you expressed it so well. I wish I could attend one with you. I'm attending local townhalls and sending letters to our representatives. I haven't found a rally close to me yet but I'll keep looking. Our town of pasadena is pretty small. When I lived in Sacramento I attended rallies for women rights and anti-trump during his first presidency.
There are so many issues/causes to rally for....
I'm scare to lose my SSDI check and Medical insurance. With my disability is very important and expensive.
If his plans destroying ssi and medicare goes through there will be millions of protesters. That is our power.
I wish I had a six stars left.
Well done!!!

Thanks, my friend, for your inspiring review. You are doing all that you can to make a difference in our country. Attending rallies and sending letters are just some of the many things we can do to make a difference. Together we stand, divided we fall. I understand your fear of losing your SSDI check and benefits. I am also in fear, and that is why I protest and go to rallies. We must fight the good fight.
Thanks for your virtual six and the hugs.
