What a terrific read. I really loved how Mrs. Pepper open her home to those in need. Her habit of cooking for two felt so touching. This is AWESOME! I had escaped violence 30 years ago when my daughter was an infant. I had family and was able to also work and support us but it still wasn't easy. There was much Empathy in your words and the artwork is wonderful.
