This is another excellent chapter. I like the way you weave history and geography into your writing.I like the way you blend the past and the present. I do see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

You and your wife are wonderful and creative travelers. Thank you for sharing about how twi writers people-watch!
Great info on Alaska. Now I am a bit worried about how they are already having to deal with the law so soon after arriving.

Thank you. At least Ben Paul is not accused of anything this time.
I'm unfamiliar with 'twi' writers. (Writers in their twilight years?)
Thanks again.

😂 That "twi" was a typo or Autocorrect got really creative!

Ben Paul and Sylvia enjoy their train ride, but there is more going on than that. Ben Paul needed to walk around the train and, therefore, saw too much for a killer to hid. Sadly, Ben Paul's muse didn't help him save her life.

Sadly for the poor girl who should have known better than to go off on a trip with Mr. Trouble.
Thank you for your very kind review.

Another adventure for Ben Paul and Sylvia is about to begin. This time at least they won't be blamed for the crime! I loved Ben Paul's powers of observation. He certainly takes everything in. He would have made a great detective.
I also enjoyed the bit of Alaskan travelogue and revisiting the story of how Ben Persons ended up killing Soapy Smith but unfortunately being killed himself in the act. This was an enjoyable chapter.

This is another engaging chapter, Wayne. I loved the detail you included about the setting which I thought was really engaging. I would just suggest one thing, try not to rely too much on dialogue as too much dialogue does make it feel more like a script. That's just my opinion of course. I really enjoyed reading it.

Thank you for the review and comment about dialogue. It's always good to be aware of the overall presentation.

Thanks for the mini history lesson. I actually remember when we took control of Alaska; I was in kindergarten, and my teacher told us about it. I don't remember her words, but I remember that she was very excited about it.
Was it '67? I wasn't in kindergarten in '67. I thought we bought it in the late 50s.
But how do we know that the woman is dead and thrown off the train? She hasn't called home, but no one said there was a body.
The moral of the story as I see it is to always be aware of your surroundings. Ben Paul and Sylvia certainly always are, and will be able to help the deputy.
We'll learn more next time, I expect:-)

We bought Alaska in 1867. It became a state in 1959, the same year as Hawaii.
All we know is that the girl is missing with strong evidence that she was on the train.
Thank you for your very kind review.
-
It became a state in 1959 - that's why my teacher used it for a "lesson". Thanks.

Interesting to learn a bit about Alaska. Another adventure here, but an unfortunate and unpleasant one. Ben Paul is very observant and intuitive.
Well done.
Wendy
Edit: Alaska's capitol. (capital)

Wayne,
This is a great addition to your book. Ben Paul sure has a heightened awareness of his surrounds. To notice someone among several customers. He's do the Lord's work.
Well done

It's good to see you write serialised novels of itinerant Christian ministers such as Ben Persons and his Great grandson Ben Paul, ministry does run in families, and this is as an authentic enactment of the ministry that takes one where God calls you to go. I experienced some of this in the days of my gospel singing days. Ben Paul is back in His grandfather's territory, Alaska at the moment, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for reviewing.
(Only, Ben Paul is Ben's son, born in 1890. The year in the story is 1973.)

Thanks for the correction.
