Wayne,
This is a great story and it's coming along nicely. I think Ben Paul and Sylvia are doing the right thing and not giving the ring to any of them. They have to go with their gut feelings. Never do you go against your gut.
Well done my friend

Quite a dilemma they have. All but one, and maybe even that one, are crooks, trying to swindle Ben Paul and Sylvia out of the ring. But how to decide who's a crook and who's telling the truth?
I liked that thought of Ben Pauls's: God telling him to deal with it himself.
Not sure how I would respond in a situation like this. I'd probably demand to see a purchase receipt for the ring, but it may no longer exist if it was passed down to the recipient. Tough question. Perhaps Sylvia's solution is the best one.
Nicely written to present this dilemma.

Thank you. I thought there ought to be a bit of light-hearted drama not involving police.

Step right up folks, get in line, the best liars have the best chances to sell their bull crap stories and get the ring. That is if they can convince Ben Paul. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your fun review.

Your story has so many twists and turns that I couldn't help but get drawn into the mystery! I love how you kept me guessing about who the rightful owner of the ring could be. The dialogue feels natural. I really enjoyed how you kept things light even with the tension building up. Great job with the pacing and keeping me hooked! Keep it up!

Thank you so much for your great, uplifting review!

I would be more confused than ever after hearing all of these stories. I'd love to see Mrs. Jones, I bet she isn't as old as she claims to be. Anyway, I'd hate to have to make a decision. Give it to the sheriff and let him handle it!

The sheriff who wanted Ben Paul in prison for bank robbery? (smiley face here)
I prob'ly should have given one or two of the seekers a little more emotion, their valuable ring being found.
Thank you for your very nice review.

Hmm. Any or none of them could be telling the truth. My guess is, none of them. I'm looking forward to seeing how they find the right owner! Well written.

Thank you.
Rereading it, I guess I could have written, or at least implied some passion or excitement that the ring had been found.
Thank you for following along. I'm hoping the conclusion to the ring episode will be a bit of a surprise
Comment from Carol Hillebrenner
I remember that song by Jerry Lewis. He was so heart-broken. None of the callers seemed heart-broken, only determined to lay a claim to a very nice ring. I suspect they haven't found the real owner. No one seems sufficently upset.

Thank you. Guess I'm not very good at writing 'upset'. But we'll see. (smiley face here)
