I loved the opening statement. I've always viewed hospitals as like a Twilight Zone story. They always creeped me out as well; I loved it. Well done, Gretchen. Now I have to start from the beginning and see what I've missed, lol.
God bless,
Steve

I liked your description of the hospital and the transformation it takes when morning comes. It sounds like you have some experience in this realm.
Miranda is on the hunt now, seeking clues and questioning what she's finding. Her tenacity, I'm sure, will lead her to figure this out.
BTW, you mentioned Ed Preston in your previous chapter. Who is he? I either forgot or never knew.

Those Dougie types always had a tendency to make most of their own problems. As much as they deserve whatever negative things that happen to them, we still find ourselves wanting to help. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Who would have thought that a chick that works in a roadhouse would become a detective, well,, one where the circumstances in her life have driven her into that state, her town is becoming a place of notoriety and misadventure, well done, Gretchen, blessings Roy
Typo : expect the (worse) worst?

Thank you, Roy. In my head, Patterson County is a very safe and peaceful place ... unless you get mixed up in Miranda's world. Lol. Thank you for this. Gretchen

You have a very good chapter for the book and I've enjoyed listening to it. It moves along very well when it is ready loud. You're sitting in the structure your paragraph and your punctuation. I'll make it for a very good audio read. I wish you the very best with all of your writing and I also wish you a wonderful year.

As usual Miranda is on to something. I do hope Mitch accepts her interference with grace. LOL I agree there is a lot more to this story. I enjoyed reading.

Mitch might get aggravated with her, but he knows she is wickedly smart. There will be a lot of give and take. Gretchen

Miranda is on the case and it's good to hear her forensic brain at work. Meanwhile Dougie is still fighting for his life with signs of hope. This has become an intriguing murder mystery with Dougie at the heart of it and Miranda bent on solving it. Well done, Gretchen. Debbie

Thank you, Debbie, for this wonderful review. Miranda is smart enough, but it's her tenacity that pushes her through. Gretchen

Hmmm. You are the master of intrigue. I love the way you get my gears working, trying to be like Miranda, myself, and work this through. So many unanswered questions and potential scenarios. I repeat: you are the master of intrigue. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment!! xoxo

Thank you Rachelle. There are times you remind me of Miranda (except in a more refined way.). Take it as a compliment. I love both of you. Gretchen

Good progress. Nicely written dialogue.
Tomlin's car have been towed off and ... - his is nitpicking, but you don't need 'off'. The message is the same without it.
Best wishes.

Bad things do happen to good people all the time and this seems to be a mystery that is hard to unravel without more clues. Another fine chapter Gretchen and we hope Duggie recovers without any serious side effects, love Dolly x

Dougie isn't evil, he's just conceited. Lol. We all know a Dougie. Thank you for the excellent review. Gretchen
