A lovely story, and good that Ben Paul had the intuition and memory to know where to find the child. I enjoyed the inclusion of Elvis, and How Great Thou Art sung by him is very moving. I enjoyed listening to it again.

It's fun to have Elvis join in the concert! And I'm also glad that they didn't sing "The King is Coming" to confuse with the musical "king."

I like how you echoed Ben Paul's life with this repeat of finding a little one.

Question:
"'lottment," she soberly replied. (Allotment? or does Lottment mean something?)

Thank you for your very nice review.
'lotment was just me feeble attempt at patois 'with attitude'. I always wondered how it became legal to rob the Trail of Tears Indians of the land that was theirs by law. Greedy Americans stole it by Allotment Law.
    Have a blessed Christmas!

Oh. maybe add an apostrophe. The technical term is "syncope" (medically fainting) but in grammar it is showing a missing letter.

It sounds as if Ben Paul and Sylvia a great time at the music event. How lucky could they get that Elvis appeared while they were there. Ben Paul must have really listened well to his mother's stories of his father as he knew where his father had found a missing child and used that info to find the missing child in his time. Don't know why that worked, but the Lord does provide.

    Thank you.
The route both toddlers took would have been natural to the terrain. The searchers concentrated on preconceptions and quadrants.
I enjoyed getting Elvis in there. (smiley face here)

Yes, sir, I'm a sucker for happy endings and safe little "Gamma" loving children. And then the extra special treat you offered up with the Gather's rendition of "The King is Coming." Guy Penrod will cause any music lover's body to be covered in goosebumps when he opens his mouth and his sweet voice bellows. Thanks for sharing.

I can relate to this, I once wrote all the music and lyrics to skits and songs we sung and performed as a two family gospel group, Regeneration, we toured ministering in music and drama for years, and that's how we did it then, with some breaks, we had gifted children with whom we needed to entertain as well, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Well, Sylvia and Ben Paul may be "pshawing" the 8:00 bedtime, but that's pretty near normal for me!

As I was reading this, I thought it might be interesting to read an autobiographical book called, "The Adventures of Wayne & Debbie." Seriously. Each chapter could be a certain trip you took, or place you visited, or a day trip. You could include your house-sitting adventures. You could expand on it and add a little drama here and there, but make it your own story.

I personally think it would be interesting.

Just a thought.

I read your review to Debbie (she laughed). But believe it or not, the novel she's writing right now include some of our house-sitting adventures.

    No.
She's scared of the programming what with all the belly-aching I've voiced.

This chapter was extremely entertaining. I loved the inclusion of Elvis and also Bill Gaither. And to add a little drama, the rescue of little boy. So far, this is my favorite chapter!

As soon as I finished your story, I listened to Elvis singing Christmas songs and the Gaithers.

This is a great chapter to your book. It is funny how Sylvia and Ben Paul always come to the rescue. It must be God that is giving then a helping hand.

Well done
