Hi Gypsy, your poem has good analogy within. So many people hide within their own cocoon and miss out on chances and opportunities of life. Well done. Good sensory appeal. Xo. M

Another fine poem, Gypsy....and a great metaphor for us. So tempting to hide away and not take chances. We short change ourselves by doing so, guilty as charged.

This poem is such a beautiful metaphor for life. How many times, and we all do it, refuse to do something because we are afraid to step up and take that chance? Thank you for sharing your talent and your message with us.

love the bottom pic!!
sometimes i feel like i'm that butterfly lol!
great imagistic naani
though a naani is only 4 lines, but i like the flow of the five lines
only suggestion i can make is to put lines 3 & 4 on the same line
fearful butterfly
hides in its cocoon
missing an extraordinary chance
to fly
cool animated pics
thank you for sharing
shelley :)

Such a worrying time for that poor, fragile butterfly which won't even be able to fly until the moisture has dried out. And then only surviving a couple of weeks if lucky. Love the presentation! Very soothing! And your charming verse is infused with a note of poignancy. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Gypsy,
This is a wonderful naani poem! It reminds me of a person that misses out on so much in life by being afraid to fly.
Nice symbolism and graphics, Gypsy.
Excellent,
Best wishes,
Cindy

I think this teaches us an important life lesson. We need to overcome our fear in order to grasp certain opportunities that come our way. When we hide away we might miss them altogether.
Thanks for sharing

I wonder if there are cocoons that remain the habitat for life. I would think they'd die if they don't become moths or butterflies. You made me curious so I checked that in deserts some stay up to 3 years in the cocoon until the conditions are better for life. There are lots of reasons to be fearful these days!

I think there's a lot of truth in that story, it's really a metaphor about those who choose safety in preference to adventure, the only trouble is one is still subject to danger one way or 'tother. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
