I love how you wrote all the milestones in Willie's life, up until he's in his 80s, like how he joined the army, became a police officer, etc. He was truly devoted to protecting the American people, and that's something portrayed in this excellent piece of poetry.

Oh thank you my sweet friend. I know Willie will appreciate it too, as he reads the kind comments from everyone. Thanks so much, and you both seem so young to me. Yet, my mom would have been 90 tomorrow.
I am about to release a poem that I wrote for her. Even after 30 years, I still have a hard time on her birthday. So I dont consider you and Willie old, but thankful that you are friends of mine. Thanks again, Sweetie.

This is an extremely well-done poem and such a pleasure to read! The illustration sets the stage and the presentation illustrates the subject. I rarely give 6's to poems --- because I don't understand poetry well enough to make educated judgements. This one is different. It is exceptional. ann

Thank you so very much, Ann. I wasn't sure if we were going to get the birthday boy to the party for a while. Willie was so excited for this poem, so when I didn't hear from him for a few days, I started messaging him and finally heard back that he was down in bed and really sick. Well I kept checking on him, but all of a sudden, nothing again. I got so worried after another day went by, I didn't know if he lived alone or what so I called the police and asked for a wellness check. All of a sudden I heard from Willie, and I thought he might be upset with me, but he seemed impressed that someone cared enough to check on him that way. So at least all is well that ends well. LOL.
Thanks for not only the very kind comments Ann, but for the lovely six stars for this poem for Willie. I appreciate you so very much, my sweet friend.

I love your tribute to Willy. It flows well, rhymes well, and brings Willy's life and memories to us.
I enjoyed the music pieces. One Tin Soldier is one of my favorite songs. We do keep you busy on here with all our Birthdays, and we so enjoy learning about the lives of others on here. I learned a lot about Willy I didn't know, that's for sure.
