Hi MariVal,
an intriguing title Gypsy Queen... and as you do, you blend and bend everything to accommodate the intent.
I love the side-by-side comparison, and after reading your notes and understanding the reasoning behind your creations I commend you. I must say the Haiku holds me in a deeper connection... the language has a pure flow allowing my mind and thoughts to linger longer within its beauty. Not saying the 5-7-5 isn't in its own rights, beautiful... but the 'myriad shades' are the right hue, the right palette. So together, a truly wonderful presentation... a two-for-one deal, and I love a deal!
With our thoughts we create...
the hue of attraction.
Kindest regards,
James.

Hello, James,
You're back, yay! You must be feeling better.
I prefer haiku, I hardly ever write 5-7-5 poems. But we were learning the differences.
I agree with you, I love the enlightening zen haiku. I like the juxtaposition of two related things but different...the connection is magical. I love the imagery of Japanese poetry... it's so visual...like me.
Thank you for the detailed insightful review and feedback.

This is a beautiful entry for the club event. I enjoyed your presentation and your wording. I also enjoyed your notes that you have at the end telling about the 575 rules. Patricia.

Hi MariVal,
These haikus shows the different shades in the font colors of both poems. It shows how beautiful nature is and how many shades of each color can be seen in it.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Beautiful on both counts, Gypsy. As you know this was recently a conversation on the forum...I was hoping a master like yourself would be able to come forward and show us, rather than just telling us the difference between a true haiku...and a 5-7-5.

It's funny that you wrote this because I have always described butterfly wings as church windows. This was such a killer visual. I liked the haiku and the 5/7/5. Both gave me a good feeling. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

Thank you very much, Gretchen. We are learning the differences and similarities of 5-7-5 poem and haiku are. Some people get confused, which is understandable.
I'm glad you felt a good feeling. :)

Thank you for the author's notes about the different between Haiku and a 5/7/5 poem. There really is a difference. I think I have the difference down and then I read something someone calls Haiku and I get all confused again. Both of these poems are beautifully written and presented.

This was definitely interesting, Gypsy, it tends to show the difference between a '5/7/5 poem or a haiku'. I found the picture of the haiku delightful but also found the picture of the poem equally delightful. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

I really liked this haiku couplet, Gypsy. Your use of varying colors does showcase the gradual work that God does... one step at a time...or should I say, one shade at a time :). Well done and much enjoyed!
