This is a great poem with a sad, profound satori.
The moon can be symbolic as opposite the sun, or shining at night.

Excellent

I can understand walking an empty road with the moon as one's only companion but I'm not sure why the tulips are sad. Tulips are a symbol of spring and rebirth, happiness. Hmm, I think to think a little more.

The tulips make it clear that it's spring but despite that cheery time, there is sadness because the narrator is alone and is accompanied only by the moon. Great description of a moment in life.

Are tulips a symbol of sadness? Not sure, I adore them and we have them in abundance in the UK. Grief can often bring a shroud over us as we walk alone, love Dolly x
