This was a good read. The first part, the description of police visit is believable and well written. The next part, the letter, is truly creepy. The murderer seems to be an educated, well-mannered person, which makes the matter even more creepy.

It's sick, purely twisted, and truly horrifying. It would be horrid enough to lose a child in that way, but to get a letter like that afterward... Holy Crap! I'd lose my mind... along with everything else. There's a family man living right there, in the neighborhood, someone right nearby. Someone with a family who goes to all the games at school, who's been watching since the mom was a girl! Did they 'grow up' together? That's frightening!
Author, I'd freak out so totally and completely, that I'd be selling my house and moving to the middle of the country, without neighbors! Hermit City baby!

Thank you so much for the stars. I found it horrifying that he told the mother she was young enough to have another child and I wrote it. In my mind he would be watching that child too.

While the murderer's intentions in writing the mother might have been good. I have a hard time justifying his audacity in explaining how her daughter's death healed him. I'm not sure how comforting I would find such a confession. Again, great story. (Cured or not, I hope the catch him!)
