Hi Gypsy, your poem is filled with high sensory appeal as well as beautiful imagery. I could see the whole scene in the rain, and I could hear the pitter/patter of the rain. I especially liked:
rain drizzled through the night
and outside the cool breeze billowed
as our passion's waves surged and swelled.
(Very sensual. This is what I call an ooh-la-la poem)
Beautiful artwork choice. A pleasure to read. Sorry for the late review. I am still so behind on reviews from being away. Xo. Margaret ~ LB

G, I actually read the poem either yesterday or the day before, but decided to wait until today to review so that I could give you Six stars. However, I had a hard time finding it in my mailbox which is all backed up, so I went into your portfolio. Have a great evening. Xo. M

Either you found inspiration in a movie, or moviemakers need to read this poem to gain inspiration for a scene. We read it, and then close our eyes to imagine this beautiful episode in two lives.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. The metaphors and descriptions are excellent with the comparison of the rain and the desire growing. I enjoyed reading and good luck with the contest.

Wow! This was exquisite, Gypsy! I like how you described the passion so eloquently as "waves surged and swelled." And you built the water imagery from the "pitter-patter" of the rain and the moon and stars reflected in the puddles and the drizzling rain until the final surging waves! I felt the strong crescendo! Best wishes in the contest!

Another fine poem, Gypsy....although I'm a little unclear on what you meant by, "waves surged and swelled," were they at a fishing derby near an ocean somewhere? That'd be my guess!

Beautifully descriptive free verse, Gypsy withwell used alliteration.
I love the Atticus quote - the poet waits to paint the unsaid.
I think you've achieved that beautifully. Cheers
