Oh Gypsy, this poem is beautiful. It is filled with so much heart and soul as well as imagery. I especially liked:
Her wrists' tinkling trinkets chime
and silver anklet bells ring and clang
(I can see it; I can hear it.)
Also:
wind whooses
(Good alliteration)
Fantastic artwork choice. Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing.

Rarely does someone capture the essence of gypsy dance, with the joy, but also the sorrow, that result from the complexity of human life. In one moment, an observant person sees it all.

I always think if Gypsies as having dark brown eyes. Your post caused me to do some research. I was very wrong. Thank you for sharing this poem with us. It's beautiful. I have always been fascinated with Gypsies. One year, I studied Spanish Language and Culture at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. One day, while in class, a band of Gypsies came into town by way of a street by the university. We were allowed to go to the window and watch. I enjoyed it.

I am fascinated by gypsies and their culture. I have blue eyes and fair skin and I'm from Spain - Spaniards have fair skin and blue or green eyes and also tan skin and brown eyes. I've seen gypsies with dark skin and blue eyes, it's a striking and beautiful combination, my dad was like that.... straight hair, blue eyes, and dark skin. Sometimes people are surprised that I am from Spain.

I like your free verse poem - flows very well and is jam-packed with great mediators -nice - excellent picture presentation - probably you earlier in life in Spain? Poem also flows very well - who, what, where and how - followed by a conclusion - night falls - paints an excellent picture for the reader. Good Job.

I wish you entered this in the Free Form poetry contest. It's a lovely free verse and there's two parts with Gypsy dancing contrasted with when she is resting and nature takes up the dance.

Thank you very much, big sister. I'm glad you like it. It took longer than usual. I used to write free verse all the time, before I discovered haiku, which is a type of free verse.
