Hi Gypsy, Earthquakes are a killer. When they hit, there's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Of special note:
swallowed dreams and hopes --
wave of pain
(This is so true. I'm always hearing news reports about the possibility of another earth quake hitting California, and supposedly, there's a fault line under NYC. How many times will the World Trade Center need to be rebuilt??? God Bless and protect both our coastlines.)
A timely poem. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Unfortunately, I can remember that day. Unfortunately, because that means I am that old! But so unfortunate for the people who were affected. I am just so glad I am not in the path of any potential earthquake ad I do not plan on moving to any earthquake prone area. They are just too scary.
In just a few words you were able to express what every citizen of Alaska must have endured that day.
Very nice.

Wow, that was amazing, Gypsy, I never realized that this was recorded as the country's worst. The picture was utterly fantastic. Your words of the haiku were exceptional. Very well done. Blessed be n hugs!

Oh, Marival, I have been told about that Earthquake by a colleague of mine who was actually there when it happened. He said It was something else and quite surreal. You have written a wonderful haiku depicting what happened. Un abrazo, Ulla xx

I remember the headlines of this tragedy. You captured it well in your words and presentation. It is a good historical Haiku to remember and inform of this tragedy.
Best wishes,
Mary

Wow. I haven't heard of this earthquake and tsunami. 9.2 is definitely strong enough to turn everything into rubbles. Thanks for teaching me this history lesson through a beautiful Haiku. I like the Satori.
Well done.

Another fine poem, Gypsy----and that must have been awful to live through, or not. Another example of how helpless we really are to nature. Thinking of the tsunami a few years ago in Indonesia

Yes, in a sense it was more fortunate, in a sense, than the tsunamis in Japan and further south, there were many thousands who lost their lives, I guess Alaska must be in that "ring of fire" in the Pacific, beautifully written Gypsy, well done, blessings Roy
