muy bueno, senora!
I just learned about enjambing the other day, and haven't tried a nonet, yet. You are very versatile.
This is a good one, and what a picture-find for weaving words!
I guess I need to expand the type of poetry I write. I seem to be stuck in rhyme. Think I'll try a nonet. Didn't know you could do them in reverse, but why not?
Good show!

Thanks so much, Katharine :) glad you enjoyed... you should try the form, either upside-down or right way up - depending on how you're feeling! Enjambment works really well with this form!
    Best wishes, Debra :)

This work has reached the exceptional level

This one just packs so much important information into a concise poet form! This poem is a brief, poetic description of some of the Poet's tools! Great job, Judy!

Sorry Debra, was talking with Judy and signed incorrectly. The six came from me, Ginnygray! Sorry for the misnomer.

Debra, this is excellent! I enjoyed your reversed nonet very much, including your proper presentation of the form. Too often, those new to writing a nonet miss the mark with the centering necessary to showcase the poem's format. Well done!

Striking! You nailed poetry--new word for me--enjambment--funny, I just recommended in the review I did just prior to this that the writer "rework to make natural line breaks so not to sound forced"--now I see I could have said I don't care for enjambment!

-Good artwork, presentation,
and topic, Debra.
-I remember all of the
new things I learned when
joining FS, too. I think we
still do with all of the talent
on the site.
-You wrote a very good reverse nonet.
-I like the rhyme and all of
the -ing words for the terms.
-I think 'assonating' is the best one!
-I like the concluding line, too.
-Well done!

So true is this reverse nonet. Rhyming is the starting point, and then it is the rhythm, and all the array of literary devices you so eloquently enumerated.

Perfect artwork choice to complement the theme.

Thank you for sharing for your fine NaPo project.

Debra,

There's one of my favorite quotes by a writer, though I can't remember which one this is, that says something like, 'writing is easy, all you do is sit down at the keyboard and bleed.'

That's what this post reminded me of. Very intelligent and creative post - but then, so many of your posts are, aren't they? Very entertaining. I appreciate you!

Very nice nonet and I like it upside down - etherees are similar... It is hard work, honey but you seem to battle uphill very well. It is a challenge to be here...I live on disability and money is short, so I devote time to read and comment - besides, I love to read other people's work. When I was well I did a lot of editing and hope to get back to it. Your poem is an explosion of expressions that is delightful!!

There is so much to think about when writing a poem that it makes me wonder how we achieve it? But here you prove it is all worth it, a fine nonet, love Dolly x

You described the act of writing poetry so nicely, even including some of the poetic tools involved. I especially like your final line which says it all. So glad you're here so we can create together!
