lovely free verse entry for the "Flowers" event in "The Fabulous Free Versers Club. I enjoyed the descriptive writing style...nice imagery. Your poem appeals to smell and sight. Great spiritual poem.

This is a beautifully written poem particularly the image of Billie and her love of flowers. Then the tribute to her as the congregation says the final goodbye in a sea of her beloved flowers is both vivid and fragrant.
Well done.
I enjoyed the read and the images.

Such a great piece. I love flowers. It exudes brilliance, happiness, colour, peace and a lot of energy. The ending is beautiful with the subject whispering out flower names peacefully.

We love our dear ones with all our heart but we also keep our heart light and pliable. It has space. It breathes. I am moved by the wonderful tribute to a departed noble soul. Great imagery and elegance. Thanks for sharing!

Your poem is beautifully filled with bright colors and fragrances. I can see the beauty of the sanctuary in full bloom. I can't think of a better way to give her a send-off than with the flowers that she loved so much. Great job!''

What life takes away, I choose to believe eternal life gives back! You've written with a deft hand, woven the tapestry of Billie's life into such an attractive, warming, wrap I could settle into her spirit and be warmed...
I've no doubt she was there in some spiritual form beyond man's understanding... Faith is a bouquet as well. I smelled every fragrance and smiled at your offering. What a lovely memorial!--Karenina

This should be the wish of most of us old enough to ponder our eventual departure from this earthly plain. To live the kind of life that those seeing you off to wherever do so with fond memories of you when you walked among them. Imagining what you would do if you were still here.
