Ha ha ha, a fun rhyme Debra and that goes for me too, I liked this short and effective poem, I loved numbers but I just didn't take to the teacher and so I didn't do well, but since I left school I have learned more, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I know what you mean. I think I enjoy sciences and other subjects much more now that I'm old and not in school and it's not a bunch of tests. Could you put a note to explain what is meant by "Clever-Clogs?"

Hi Helen, Thanks for your feedback and request :) I always tell my kids that they are a 'clever-clogs' when they've done something clever, or if they tell me something they've learned - I use the term affectionately. However, I've just looked up what the official definition is and it's not all that nice!! -- Somebody who is rather too clever - a smart aleck - an intellectual who is all too keen to flaunt their intelligence to a point of being irritating.
I will have to try to stop using that term from now on! I'll also have to find an alternative for the poem!

I'm sure your kids know it's a compliment! I looked it up, too and don't know what a positive and equally alliterative phrase would be. But you're a poet so I'm sure you'll create a new one!!

This is very well made poem. It is bright and although you may not be great at the hard sciences, this little poem shows that your talents are in other areas, just as important. We need both the scientists and the artists to make the world great.
