hard times <-- Often just a hint of hope can give us the boost we need to keep going.
service in silence to all <-- the only kind that's unselfish and done strictly for others and not for recognition
A year of youth I send to you,
that is, young eyes and youthful heart. <-- Important, but also necessary is the strength and good health that comes with youth.

What a rainbow of wishes and blessings! And a prayer for leaving the old and embracing the promises of the new. Many are the deeply meaningful words and lines that inspire... but for me the first and the last stanza stand out, as a transformational power from above makes way to a higher consciousness.

Good luck Yvette in the Rhyming Poem contest. I liked the pattern you used and the entire topic of your poem. It had a calming, comforting sense to it. And it definitely met the criteria of the contest.

I kinda think of myself as Mad Max just making it through (LOL!) ...
