This was a great 4-6-5 haiku! It was very upsetting, but you got your point across. I like that you used the word "critters." Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This the worst part of forest fires as the animals cannot escape and die in the flames, a shocking and terrifying death for them. A powerful and sad post, love Dolly x x x

The fires in the forest around are very devastating to the wildlife. That is one of the reasons that mankind should be taken care of the forest. They should clean out the brush underneath and keep things in order so that they don't catch fire so quickly. Patricia.

Kahpot,

This is a very bone chilling Haiku. You say, "While critter scream." That is so sad, but forest fires do kill lots of animals. The fires that make me mad are the ones set by man. They need to go to jail for a long time.

Well done

Cecilia

When bushfires blaze, reports focus on the civilians involved and the firefighters and I understand that

I inevitably think about the wildfire that is dying.

In 2019 in Australia there were sadly 20 bushfires that killed close to 3 billion animals : mammals, birds, reptiles and frogs.

Reptiles hide under ground, and rodents in burrows but not all mammals are swift enough to flee to safety.

Thank you very much, originally, I am from Kangaroo Island South Australia, my mom was there when the fires destroyed so very much, I went back, and the animal/critter population was devastated, as always very much appreciated****kahpot

Your poem is heartbreaking. The suffering animals hit hard. I could really feel the weight of the moment in just a few words. That last line is especially sad. You shared so much emotion in such a small space - really well done!

This 5-7-5, As Wildfires Burn, has the proper formatting and captures the devastation of the blazing timber as well as the helpless creatures devoured by the furnace.

Sad, but true. Fires kill more than just
trees. They kill our children's future. The animals harmed will decline in population. Children will see only photos of them on their devices.

That is a terrible haiku in regard to its subject matter. Of course, the writing is good, the haiku well done. Fire is a powerful force of destruction. Evi

I think we've had so many experiences of exactly this, of both domestic cattle, sheep etc. and wild animals die tragically as well as humans and property, an excellent post Kahpot, blessings Roy
