You've spun a wonderful tale here which completely immersed me into Sweet Mary's world of fantasy. I loved the "rain-washed rocker" and all your botanical imagery leading up to your two suit(o)rs. This added variation to your free verse with excellent dialogue smoothly inserted before the breezes decisively advise which one to choose. Charming, original and a joy to read. This is a good free verse poem. Yes, it is obvious who the choice should be. All those promices are just works and actions always speak louder than works.

This is a sweet one of the divided heart. The heart is wise though and not easily fooled if it is true like Mary's. She picked the man who showed his love from the start: Jimmy.

Thanks, Jessi, for your review. I took it down after I put it up and put it on again. Still, the spacing wasn't right, but check it and see if it makes sense.

I get it now! The first time I viewed it, it only had the first line, which is why it didn't make sense to me. This was a beautiful poem. I'm glad you got it to appear right now.
