Betrayed and rejected, left with a broken heart. A sad story that repeats hundreds of times every day all over the world. I'm sure there are millions, literally, who could relate to your sonnet. Good sonnet, but so sad. :(

This is just exquisite, Nancy. I think this is one of best sonnets I have ever read on this site. I loved how you compared the season of love to the seasons of nature. Flawless rhyme and meter. Very well done

True. Love is fragile. It has to be nurtured and well tended and still it falls when the season ends. Such as with so many love affairs. Your poem shows beauty and grief with heartfelt words. I love the picture used as your base for this poem.

Wonderful ABAB rhyming. The illustration is beautiful and compliments your sonnet. The last two lines are excellent. Robust the heart that falls in love in spring; but when betrayed, becomes a fragile thing. Excellent writing. XX

Nancy this is lovely :) That's a beautiful picture. You have impeccable iambic pentameter as usual. Nice rhymes. Good turn in stanza three. A nice closing couplet. All in all this is a pleasant theme and enjoyable read. I wish you well in the contest. I never do well in sonnet contests, so my opinion probably doesn't mean much lol!
