I am so happy you were empowered. It's important to spend time alone and self-reflect. Taking care of ourselves is very important. Thank you for sharing this with us. You remain in my prayers.

It sounds to me that you have found that perfect peace within yourself. When a person is able to spend time alone, that means they are comfortable with themselves and their relationship with God. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Patricia.

I am so glad to read that you enjoyed your time spent alone so much, you discovered a valuable gift that you will be able to connect with again the future. You wrote clearly the different ways you spent your time, some expected, some a surprise. I hope you will be able to write one day about a longer successful break. kay

You have certainly made being alone sound like a must do for everyone. Good on you for taking a positive attitude to the situation. Thanks for sharing. Perhaps you will get another chance later in the year.
Cheers

Being alone never came easy to me since i was even born with an identical twin. However, for decades I found myself with my child alone or just myself alone. Once I hears my landlord and family celebrate holidays often or barbecues but I was alone. It is other worldly. It begins lonely but turns into self realization as you wrote. Very insightful. I think you could also join writers groups near you to meet new people or some community groups pd online. Don't hide your kindness under a barrel. Not sure where you live do I was worrying about you. With the fires for one thing.
Glad you are doing better.

Alex

I once spent Christmas alone Jesse and I embraced it much the same as you did here. I am glad you indulged in pleasing yourself and doing things that gave you pleasure. We often chastise ourself for being lazy and self indulgence but if you can't do it at Christmas, then when can you do it? I enjoyed your post as many who live along will identify with your words of wisdom here, love Dolly x x x

Hey Jesse!
I thoroughly enjoyed your journal entry (?) piece about how you spent your Christmas. I learned a lot about you, something I always enjoy with my fellow members of the community.
You actually taught me a new word with this work: "qualia." I actually had to look it up and discovered that it is the quality of something without it actually being the object with the property. This reminds me of Plato and essentialism where forms are discussed like "horseness" or "treeness." It is the actual fact of the quality, rather than thing itself. Awesome! Thank you!
---"A wondrous feeling like no other, where time doesn't matter, and you allow yourself to enjoy doing nothing at all." --I have no doubt this is liberating, and done well, can actually change your frame of mind, as it looks as if this experience did for you. I am a solitary person myself in physical space, although I do enjoy my connections with others through the computer. Loneliness can be conquered by adopting your outlook.
---It is SO FUNNY that I just reviewed Jessica Wheeler's short story "All Alone" (which I highly recommend reviewing if you have the time) and her conclusion about solitude mirrors you own. Fascinating how this topic cropped up twice in an hour for me!
---I absolutely LOVE Yes. I listen to the album "Classic Yes" as often as I can. "Fragile" is also good. My favorite songs by them are "And You and I" and "Heart of the Sunrise." I am also a HUGE Beatles fan, and while I like all four of them, I would probably say John is my favorite.
I hope you don't mind me helping you a bit with your commas. There were just a few. And unlike most writers, they are all commas that need to be removed rather than added:
---"since David left for a place he now[,] calls home." --This comma doesn't need to be here.
---"But that day[,] I slipped into relaxation mode[,] every time the spirit moved me." --Neither of these commas need to be here.
---"silence of a peaceful day with no one around[,] and nothing to do but[,] chill." --These two as well should be removed.
This is an awesome short piece about your emotional growth. I really enjoyed reading it and getting to know you better. Talk to you again soon!
Patrick

Thanks, Patrick, for this awesome review. You hit the highlights and shared how you liked the word, "Qualia," and I appreciate it immensely. Thanks for your positive feedback.
Thanks, for your suggestions on commas, and the need for fewer of them.
I love your input it helped me grow and for that, I will be eternally grateful.
Have a great humpday!
Jesse
