If I had money I would send some. I have less than none. But I do pray, send blessings and best wishes and kind thoughts. And there in intent and love behind all of it. Nice writing. Karen

Hello Karen,
I know that God doesn't call us to give what we don't have, and standing in intercessory prayer for those in need is a blessing indeed. For those of us who do have all of our needs met and beyond, I hope that they will search their hearts and consider helping. As I mentioned, it could be me next, and I'm sure I would find comfort in knowing that others were compassionate. Thanks so much for the fine review gal.
Have a blessed evening.

Tell me about what music you like. Me old country and old rock and roll. Karen

Hey Karen, this is the third time I've tried to answer this. Mr. Fat fingers here. Man that irritates me.
I like all kinds of music. Classic country, 60's and 70's rock, but not head banger stuff, movie soundtracks, a few really old artists like Jimmy Durante or Dean Martin. I really enjoy some new age music, but not the weirdo stuff, things like Yanni or Enya or 2002 I love. I actually have one rap song by Weird Al Yankovich titled Amish Paradise. It's a parody of Gangster's Paradise and is hilarious. If you have a CD player, I would love to make some CD's to send you. I enjoy making them and sharing them with my friends. Let me know.

I have tinnitus and everything does not play well for me. I cannot listen to books on c.d. to much noise. Most packaged c.d.'s do fine. But only send one so I can see if it will play well for me first. You are the sweetest guy ever. Karen
-
Hi Karen,
I have tinnitus too, but perhaps not as severe as you. If you don't mind, it will cost almost the same to send several at the same time as it does one. If you don't like them or can't hear them well, give them to someone else or toss them, it won't be a great loss.
You only think I'm sweet because you don't know me very well. I can be a real jerk at times.
Blessings,
Tom

I will give them a listen. Karen

I am shocked to hear that. Does your wife know? :-)
-
Surprisingly, yes. I suppose she would be the first one to point that out.

I certainly agree with you that a natural disaster could strike any of at any time. These people are in most of our thoughts and prayers, and a little something out of those wallets from people who can afford it will help too.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Ric,
it's always good to hear from you my friend. I appreciate your thoughtful words. Yes, we're all just one disaster away from being out on the streets ourselves. Some things just can't be planned for. From what I understand, the folks in Asheville won't be covered under their insurance policies because it's considered flooding. I feel so helpless and can only hope that we will all join together as a country and extend a helping hand.
Have a blessed evening.

Your short non fiction commentary really caught my attention. I live in Southern California with seasonal wild fires and we have be evacuated twice during the same fire. Not as horrific as Asheville but scary nonetheless. Good writing my friend.

Hello Don and Vicki,
thanks so much for the great review and comments. I have a brother who lives in Southern California and another one who lives in Florida. I guess it doesn't matter where in the world you live, disaster can strike unexpectedly. When it does, it's good to remember those in need and lend a helping hand. We never know when it might be us who is in need.
Have a blessed evening.

Thanks for this exhortation, Tom. Yes, we all can do our part. Our church does support Samaritan's Purse. And it's the smaller private organizations which can do more than the bureaucracy-tied government organization. FEMA had to redirect supplies because some evil robbers were stealing the supplies. Let's pray against the evil one who always uses scammers and robbers at the time of the worst crises.

Hello Helen,
thanks so much for the wonderful review gal. It makes my blood boil to think of scammers and thieves taking advantage when the need is so great. Unfortunately, some folks won't donate to a worthy cause for that very reason. When I send money to an organization like Samaritans Purse, I have to believe that it will go where it's intended to go. I guess in part that's where faith comes in.
Have a blessed evening gal.

Yes, we know at least that Christian organizations have to answer to God since they are working in His Name.

An excellent post, Tom, and I hope many will read and respond. It reminded me so much of the devastating and widespread floods we had a couple of years ago, and prior to that the bushfires raging along the whole eastern coast of Australia. Australians did respond with help and compassion, standing together - I hope it will be the same for the USA. Every little bit helps.

Hello Wendy,
thanks so much for the wonderful review gal. I recall the wildfires in Australia and felt so bad for all the wildlife that couldn't escape. We can't control what happens in nature, but we're given an opportunity to show compassion. Americans are generous people. I hope they show once again just how very generous they can be.
Have a blessed day my friend.

I appreciate your information about those who had to go through this awful hurricane, as well as your notes. I agree with you that it is important to do what we can to help others. I read about this small town in Florida and everyone lost their homes. I can't begin to imagine going through that, yet you will often hear stories of how they survive and sometimes even help others. They are heroes in my opinion.
I agree that if we have the means, we have to reach out to an organization who is qualified to get the quickest and best help to these people. I donate to the Red Cross and keep these people in my thoughts as they try to forge a new life for themselves. Thank you for sharing this and caring.

Hello Pam,
thanks so much for the generous review gal and the six stars. I truly appreciate it. Most of us have some disposable income and it wouldn't take too much of a sacrifice to send some help to those who have such a desperate need. I hope the response is more than anyone could hope for.
Have a blessed evening gal.

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Tom. I hope there is a good response, as well. Have a good day and upcoming weekend.

Thank you so much for this wonderful post. It is a very sad time for so many that have lost so much. We are blessed if we have food, shelter, clothes; etc. When the tornado hit in our town about 20 years ago it demolished our church and our co-pastor's wife was killed. That was devastating. My heart goes out to all in need. May God bless you for your kind heart! Teri

Hello Teri,
thanks so much for the delightful review. I'm sorry that your church suffered such a loss. None of us is exempt from trouble, so I think it's imperative to be ready to lend a helping hand whenever we can. God mentions that those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. We can't out give God, it's in His nature to share, and I think we're never closer to Him than when we act as his ambassadors to those in need.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

If I could, I would give you a 10 star on this this is every bit of excellent writing and I so much enjoyed listening to it here from my hospital bed. I have experienced earthquakes, but I've been spared from the others. I've never lived through a flood of major proportions I've never lived through a tornado or hurricane, but like you say in your peace, we know That we should help our fellow man when they're going through these trials thank you so much for sharing this lovely article I enjoyed it very much, Patricia.

A much needed reminder right now as so many struggle in the aftermath of the storm and with another storm on the horizon. Let politics take a back seat and help your neighbors. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Marilyn,
thanks so much for the wonderful review gal. I suspect that most of us can come up with some amount to send to those in need. I fear the recovery is going to be a long and painful one.
Have a blessed day gal.
