Appreciate your poem of faith. I really like your opening of questioning about moments of despair even while being a child of God in faith. We see this in many of King David's psalms. And like those psalms, you bring us back to the joy of salvation.
One comment:
our prayer and love sustains us and leads our hearts to sing. (sustain) since both prayer and love are the subjects.

My mother and grandmother used the phrase, "Lord have mercy on our soul." My grandmother held a prayer meeting at our house every Sunday. And I remember them. I was only seven years old when my grandmother died. The things she preached about are coming full circle. Thank you for posting this great poem as all of the rest of your work.

God does not leave us, we leave Him. He is always available to guide us through life's journey. We just need to trust in His love. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem with and reminder of God's love.

Your presentation is great, Roy. I really like the picture
and color scheme. Your words are well thought through
with good rhymes and imagery and a great message. Yes,
God's love is there for all who ask. Then, the individual can
see, feel, and understand His words better with the change
s/he makes in their lives.
Respectfully, Jan

I have become accustomed to reading your beautiful works to start my day. Always accompanied by a cup of Joe, of course. I thank you for the added boost to my day, my friend, Roy.

Great rhyming, and poem flows smoothly. I like those lines in the last verse: "We will soar upon the wind as eagles on the wing.
Our prayer and love sustains us and leads our hearts to sing." What a great scripture is Psalm 30:5 - joy comes in the morning.

Quite insightful, thoughtful. Full of hope which becomes faith if and when man puts it to the test. Sadly, the more I live the more I see G o D is becoming passe' for the throngs born recently.

The rhyme and metre of this piece reminds me of the poems that introduced be to the concept of poetry as a child. I could almost feel my grandmother's presence in the cadence and the thoughts expressed. So much be embedded by rhyming words.

This poem moved me deeply, Roy. When my husband lay dying in hospital, our grandchildren sent him handmade cards and messages every day for months until he passed. One illustrated poem from a granddaughter read
"The stars shine bright
"In the darkest night"
