The loss of your son is a tragedy played out all over America for no reason. I read that accidents are now the number three cause of death in the US, and that they think this is linked to the dope crisis, opioids and others. Strongly felt emotions show here. Excellent post.

Hi Ricky, this is a terrible tragedy related from beyond the grave. You write using your son Jay's words. It is so very sad that a young life was snuffed out in such a way. The Horrible Bed - you used a strong metaphor here for the grave. The whole story tells us how it happened and the consequences. You as a father still mourn the death of your son. God Bless and stay strong. Warm regards Dorothy

My older brother David lost his daughter Kimberly during the Hurricane Sandy episode she had acquired breathing related problem in the apparently the storm had something to do with it and her when she passed out cause she couldn't find her device to help her breathe her stupid boyfriend decided to try instead of call 912 get immediate help driver to a hospital almost 10 miles away where she of course passed away on the ride over she was very very young and she was only about 2726 the point is that we should mourn and never forget and my brother David doesn't seem to realize that he almost acts like she never existed Lee blocked her out for his own personal reasons thanks for this review dr. Good morning, Ricky: I love the colors that you chose for this post. The photo is always the perfect picture for all of your poems about Jason, your son. Thank you for sharing this story with us. It is very sad and heart wrenching. Please have a great Sunday!

If someone wants to commit suicide, don't take others alone. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words. There is very good imagery.
Error
"I mist (must) have flipped my lid."

"Now as My Body rests in that bed."
"That Horrible bed!" ... good metaphor used here in relation to a grave. Very emotive.
"Lying in a Vegetative State of Being...
"Not?"
"Lord God, is this My last Shot?"
"My final finale?"
"Is this all that's left of Me?"
"Look!"
"They have all kinds of tubes hooked up to Me?" ...
"I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside I feel the scream
This terrible silence stops me
Now that the world is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there's not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me
Back in the womb it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live
Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like an antique novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me
Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh God, help me Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, help me
Darkness
Imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell
Car crash
Has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell" ~ Metallica's "One", with slight alterations.
I sincerely hope that one day God will heal your pain.

I like how this poem is written from Jason's viewpoint. When he is in the room, hooked up to tubes, he sees the effect of his death on his family. You show in your poem the ripple effect of losing someone you love, the people around him suffer. Excellent poem that reflects real life.

Ricky,
Bless your sweet soul, Ricky, but you can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what your son may have been thinking and feeling in those last days/hours/minutes. I hope you finally find some peace. Thanks

It seems every day some poor innocent gets killed by some half-witted dropkick. The dropkick survives, and some poor soul, generally apprentice is left to "carry the can" of suffering, while the perpetrator gets off Scott free, but then I don't really think they really do! And I don't think anyone truly gets over it! Well done, as usual, beautifully written, blessings, Roy
