Beautiful, the children are always the one's to suffer the most. All this madness will leave scars by the thousands. Families lost; uncle and aunts dead; and homes bombed and lost.

Your contest entry is beautiful ,Mystery Author The art
was a perfect choice to pair with your well chosen words.
Those words sound just like what a youngster would say
and/or feel and others would see, too. Your rhymes work
well, there's smooth flow, and the message is clear.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

Excellent entry for the For A Child writing prompt contest. I love the presentation and imagery. Great expresive word choices. The rhymes don't seem forced.

Your poem is so sad and true. I hope the war comes to an end soon.

Good luck in the contest.

I really liked this poem and its relevance to current events. Even though the subject matter is dark, it is something that will need to be discussed with children and I think that is a good way to start that conversation or draw attention to the suffering of the children. Beautifully constructed, great rhyme structure, grammar, and imagery! Thanks for this fantastic poem!

This poem for children, Ukraine's Child, is an important poem that fits today's world. I guess I felt the challenge was for a poem for kids, rather them about them. The wording is vague enough though to allow a lot of angles.

Thanks, Bill. I thought that this might not fit the prompt, but this is what came out.

Hello author, a timely poem. Children have such love in their heart, and when there are tro
ubles on the horizon, the want to fix what adults cannot. Your poem reads and flows well and has good rhyming within.

Of special note:
"Just stop this war,
And if you would,
I promise, God,
I will be good."

(Out of the mouth of a child. Politicians could learn a lot from children.)

Well chosen, soulful artwork. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good
luck. LateBloomer

Thanks for the review. As for most politicians, I don't know if they are capable of learning anything.

A touching poem showing us the heart of the a child. They often blame themselves when tragedy hits because they don't know why these horrible things happen. I like that prayerful ending and we all pray for this attack to end soon! Best wishes in the contest!

You have written a very inspiring children's poem, good rhyming and touches our hearts. So sad for all of the people in the Ukraine, but especially the children, how their minds must be torn. Praying that things will change in that nation.

What a heartbreaking poem, written with simplicity for a child, but also containing the idea of bargaining with God to achieve an outcome when the child thinks somehow their own behaviour might be to blame and situations can be remedied by being good.
Gorgeous photo and poem of sweet sincerity.
