What fools betray our hopes and dreams?
They're measured now in lost esteems,
as shuttered stores face foul extremes,

Did science lead us all astray?
Predictions changing every day,
of wearing masks the proper way,
forecasted deaths that went astray.

The vulnerable left to die
in isolation. No goodbye.
All lost to empty alibi,
when leaders words left them to die.
