rhymed poem
What Makes Me Happy?
I like listening to the chirping birds,
As I drink my coffee in gulps of thirds.
I rarely see them outside my window,
But their singing brings me an inner glow.
Sometimes, I watch the sun rise from the east,
And the sunshine makes me feel like a beast,
And the glory of God has me saying a prayer,
But it doesn't guarantee my day to be fair.
I like cleaning, I like reading, I like writing,
I like shopping, I like anything exciting,
And I'm sure you find me pretty boring,
But I can make you happy with a drawing.
I like acting, it makes me feel happy,
But not having work makes me feel sappy.
So, I slouch on the couch and watch movies;
The escapism makes me feel groovy.
I can write a book about loneliness,
But I rather only see righteousness.
I think everyone deserves happiness,
Even if life hands out some bitterness.
