Brainstorm

Billowing words foaming inside my brain
Ramble about, break free and seep out
Ascending like slinking cats from chambers deep
I work to herd them into sense and sometimes rhyme
Nimble as I might be, often I cannot combine
Sometimes, though, I'm rewarded with an uplifting poem
Though more times efforts result in nothing to send home
Often, I start again, summoning a new ramble of cats to unscramble
Redux some old ideas, blend with new cat-like ambling thoughts
Majestic feelings treasured when a worthy poem is wrought
