Broken Door
by Treischel
Broken Door In deserted building I did explore, I came across the remnants of a tree. There were needles scattered upon the floor, The ghost of former Christmas reverie. It lay there all forgotten and forlorn, In lone abandoned corner, dark and dim. No longer lights and tinsel did adorn Its broken limbs that were no longer trim. Some shattered fragments of a crystal orb And a clip that once held an ornament, The scene was such as to make me absorb, A family once lived, laughed, and paid the rent. Such thoughts were mine as I went to explore, And ventured out once past a broken door. |
An abandoned building. What ghosts remain within?
This poem was inspired by the poem I posted yesterday, Forest Find, and a dialog I had with ravenblack.
This is a photograph I took of an abandoned building in March, 2012.
