Sir Knight Incarnate

by Catherin Elizabet Belle

Centuries beyond the realm
Of knights and damsels in distress,
A gentleman of high regard,

A hero not of the Round Table who
Upon a stallion does not sit
Nor adorns himself with armor-
No Jousting does he win,
No trencher full of veal does he eat
Nor does he squire the ladies fair,

This aeon's stylish Knight soothes
The raging beast terrorizing the soul,
And nukes the shadowy aura
To a glistening sunny glow,
As the Damsel's anguish purrs
With a kitten's innocence,

With twinkling eyes of azure blue
And bronzed arms he gently places
The lady in her chariot, and sends
Her flying down the oozing
Asphalt across the castle's moat
Hidden in the towering walls, where

Centuries beyond the realm
Of knights and damsels in torment,
Reigns a knight of lofty ideals.
