A Simple Flower

It was but a simple flower, given to a rose

Just a wish to lift her dreams, her poetry and prose

But life, it knows of distance, it knows and always shows

That I give without receiving, and believe me, this heart knows
 
 
My hope, we'd be a perfect fit, together hand in glove

Just gentle words I offer,  a stronger touch and love 
 

And a hearty laugh to lift her up, when she can't rise above
