Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
a tribute to my favorite season

Ode to Spring

Ode Contest Winner 

It's Spring and green is dominant
replacing dismal gray.
The grass grown lush on hills and swales
sends forth a sweet bouquet.

The sky spread wide seems bluer and
those puffy clouds more white.
That wintry breeze is balmy now;
each gust has lost its bite.

The trees are buff and blossoming
like popping corn gone wild.
A path strewn thick with petals pink
now looks as if it's tiled.

A crowd of saucy flowers whirl,
their faces all upraised
while darting ivory butterflies
will leave their viewers dazed.

Spring welcomes new, brings back the old,
this season of rebirth.
Such joyfulness it fills us with,
returning long-missed mirth.
