T'was Fate

Their story began with a pash,

her cheeks blushed when their lips clashed

To wed, though blessed, was a step too rash

their feuding families fell due to the backlash.

Thrusting their swords, brash youths slashed

too many lives cut down in a flash.

Our lovers' dreams turned to ash

fate caused the Friar's plan to crash.

Romeo drank the poison he had stached

the lass stabbed herself with a mortal gash.
