No pot of gold but...
Making The Best Of It
St. Patty's Day is drawing near,
besides the wearing of the green...
I'd like to find that pot of gold
at rainbow's end, so far, unseen.
Corned beef and cabbage, beer that's green,
it satisfies hunger and thirst.
But what I really, really need,
is gold, before my dreams all burst.
A leperchaun, yes, that's the trick!
I'll capture one who will lead the way.
If I should find them, him or her,
will they know? Or refuse to say?
It really hasn't rained for months,
which makes my chances slim, at best.
No rainbow soars across the sky,
perhaps I'll give this dream a rest.
St. Patty's Day is drawing near,
I've Irish blood, I'll celebrate.
with "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" t-shirt donned,
green beer, corned beef and cabbage waits.
